Marketing platform AppLovin said on Thursday it has submitted a bid for TikTok assets outside of China, ahead of the April 5 deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump to find a non-Chinese buyer for the short video app used by 170 million Americans.

The video app is barreling toward a Saturday deadline to change its ownership under federal law or face a ban in the United States.

Despite the increasing number of potential buyers, neither the app nor its Chinese owner have confirmed they will do a deal.
