A gunman who reportedly shot five soldiers at Georgia's Fort Stewart is in custody after an active shooter situation at the Army post.

An active shooting incident at an army base in Georgia has resulted in five soldiers being hospitalized. This afternoon, the official Facebook account for Fort Stewart, Georgia announced that the base had been put in lockdown due to an active shooter in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area.

An Army sergeant opened fire on other soldiers in his unit Wednesday morning at Fort Stewart, sending five to local hospitals for treatment. All are expected to survive.
