At least 1,500 "No Kings" protests nationwide are planned Saturday on the same day President Donald Trump scheduled a large-scale military parade in Washington, D.C. on Flag Day and his 79th birthday.

A flagship "No Kings" march and rally are planned in Philadelphia, but no events are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., where the military parade will take place on Trump's 79th birthday. Organizers of the protests say they want to take attention away from the parade.

Police in Sonoma and Napa counties are preparing as North Bay protesters join a nationwide wave of No Kings Day rallies.

The protest in Philadelphia is part of a nationwide “No Kings” action planned by critics of President Donald Trump’s administration, and will coincide with the president’s 79th birthday and a controversial military parade taking place in Washington Saturday evening.

Gov. Kevin Stitt said local officials refused to get involved in the 2020 protests, but OKC Mayor David Holt did take action and met with protesters

"I think we will see the largest peaceful single day protests that this country has seen certainly since the first Trump term," said Indivisible cofounder Ezra Levin, one of the organizers.
