Lord Coe has vowed to ensure the International Olympic Committee has a “laser-like focus on sport” if he is elected as its new president next year.

World Athletics chief Sebastian Coe is the highest profile of the seven candidates to have declared on Monday their bid to succeed International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach.

Seven notable candidates, including Sebastian Coe, Johan Eliasch, and Kirsty Coventry, are competing for the International Olympic Committee presidency next year. Current president Thomas Bach will step down after 12 years.
