It was a surprise Sarina Wiegman could barely believe. As the Lionesses celebrated winning back-to-back European Championship titles in front of Buckingham Palace, out came Wiegman’s favourite artist.
Athena was born on January 22 and arrived prematurely, as Princess Beatrice opened up about in an article she wrote for British Vogue. "Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early," she penned, describing the experience as "humbling."
The Lionesses parade was an occassion to remember for Sarina Wiegman in particular, after she was treated to a surprise performance by her favourite artist Burna Boy.
Mead and Williamson had their spot-kicks saved but Alex Greenwood, Niamh Charles and Kelly all converted theirs. Hampton saved from Caldentey and Aitana Bonmati, Salma Paralluelo dragged hers wide and that was enough for the Lionesses to come out on top.
Princess Beatrice and her family joined crowds of thousands watching the England women’s football team’s victory parade in central London. The princess, her husband Edoardo Mozzi and their children Sienna, Athena and Christopher, were among crowds lining The Mall near Buckingham Palace to celebrate the team winning Euro 2025.
