Turkey's Ministry of Defense confirmed that 20 soldiers were killed on Tuesday when a military cargo plane crashed in neighboring Georgia on its way back from Azerbaijan.

A Turkish military cargo plane carrying at least 20 people has crashed near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border, Turkey's defence ministry has said.

The Georgian Interior Ministry said the aircraft crashed in Georgia's Sighnaghi municipality, close to the Azerbaijani border, adding that an investigation has been launched.
