‘Gone forever’: Victims’ families speak out as Derrick Thompson sentenced for fatal Minneapolis crash
Jurors in June convicted Thompson, the 29-year-old son of a former St. Paul state representative, of the third-degree murder charges and 10 counts of criminal vehicular homicide for operating a motor vehicle in a grossly negligent manner and leaving the scene of an accident.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. at southbound Highway 23 and Travis Road in Marshall, according to the State Patrol.
