With No Kings protests planned Saturday in the Houston area, local organizers are calling for peaceful rallies, while officials like Mayor John Whitmire say they are working with organizers "to ensure that First Amendment rights are respected while maintaining public safety.
According to the group’s website, similar protests are set to kick off in more than 1,000 cities across the country, including several Chicago suburbs. The rallies are intended to counter the military parade president Donald Trump has planned to mark the U.
Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration are set to rally in nearly 2,000 cities and towns this weekend.
So far, the cities of Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Guntersville, Jacksonville, Auburn, Dadeville, Selma, and Dothan have scheduled June 14 protests in Alabama.
Close to 2,000 demonstrations are expected Saturday across the United States, with several scheduled to occur in the Susquehanna Valley.
