Turkey’s foreign minister is set to travel to Russia on Monday to discuss the situation in Ukraine, following direct talks earlier this month in Istanbul between the two sides in conflict.

The first direct peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in more than three years lasted well under two hours, with no apparent sign of progress so far in narrowing the gap between the sides, and a Ukrainian source called Moscow's demands "non-starters".

The President of the USA, Donald Trump, announced a significant prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia on Friday. "Congratulations to both sides on this negotiation," Trump highlighted, suggesting that this could "lead to something big.
