UPS said it is temporarily grounding part of its fleet of aircraft after a cargo plane crashed into a ball of flames shortly after taking off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky earlier this week.

The union that represents 3,500 UPS pilots is working to comfort the families of three colleagues lost in last week’s catastrophic jet crash.

As a bell sounded in the cockpit, three UPS pilots tried to control a cargo flight that crashed this week in Louisville, Kentucky, killing at least 13 people, the National Transportation Safety Board said on Friday.

UPS and FedEx are temporarily grounding all of their McDonnell Douglas MD-11 cargo aircraft, following Tuesday’s plane crash in Louisville, Ky., that killed at least 14 people.

A light aircraft has crashed near Perth Airport. Police Scotland confirmed they were called to reports of the crash near Destiny Road, Scone, at about 12:10 on Monday. Three fire engines and specialist resources attended the scene. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said there was one casualty in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Saturday said it was prohibiting MD-11 planes from flying for now, pending inspections, after a crash earlier in the week of a UPS MD-11 cargo freighter killed at least 14 people in Kentucky.
