Baton Rouge under extreme heat warning, Bertha no longer a threat here, National Weather Service says

The Baton Rouge area is under an extreme heat warning Wednesday until 8 p.m., the National Weather Service said. Tropical Storm Bertha is well south of Baton Rouge at this point, a meteorologist said.

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Closures in the Baton Rouge area are being announced as Louisiana braces for heavy rain threatening flooding from Tropical Storm Arthur. While the school year is over, some schools in the area offer summer classes.
