Statistics from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, better known as NOAA, show there’s been only two hurricane seasons on record with no storms becoming strong enough to reach hurricane status. That happened in 1907 and again in 1914, according to NOAA data.

El Niño has helped suppress Atlantic hurricanes so far, but experts warn Florida residents should remain prepared.

According to hurricane center data there have been only two years (at least since 1851) without a hurricane in the Atlantic. Those years were 1907 and 1914. There is only one hurricane on record during the hurricane seasons of 1905 and 1925.
