In an effort to turn their disappointing season around, the Golden State Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler. They sent Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, Lindy Waters III, and Andrew Wiggins to multiple different teams to add their second piece alongside Stephen Curry on offense and Draymond Green on defense.

Wednesday's trade might have been a backup plan for both parties, and an expensive one. But Golden State thinks the risk could work.

The Heat and Warriors have agreed on a deal that sends Butler to the Bay Area, a person with knowledge of the talks said Wednesday.
