Lewis, who smashed a 425-foot homer in the sixth inning, singled in the ninth inning but exited the game after he pulled up while sprinting to first base. He didn't look devastated by any means, but the trainer and manager Rocco Baldelli quickly met him at first base and took him out of the game.

Jose Altuve and rookie Jacob Melton drove in three runs each as the Houston Astros jumped on Chris Paddack early and cruised to a 10-3 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis was having a solid Friday night. He slugged a home run midway through the game, and in the ninth inning, he notched a nice single. Except, while running to first on that hit, he pulled up lame. He was injured.

Despite missing their top slugger and home run leader, the Astros cruised past the Twins to open their three-game series.
