Pavan, an Italian golfer on the DP World Tour, was in Stellenbosch, South Africa, for the Investec South African Open when he fell three stories through an open elevator shaft at his accommodations. He was rushed to the hospital with severe shoulder injuries and fractures to his vertebrae.
