You can change folder icons in Windows 11 by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" and "Customize." Desktop icons like the Recycle Bin are changed in the Settings under Personalization and Themes.
When you press a letter on the keyboard the focus is shifted to the icon starting with that alphabet. Or when you select an icon with your mouse pointer the icon gets focused with a pale white box.
