X (formerly Twitter) has now gone down in an outage affecting thousands of users around the world. According to Down Detector, issues with Elon Musk's social media app began shortly after 11:20 GMT.

X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, went down for tens of thousands of users Friday morning. More than 78,000 outages were reported as of 10:16 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector.
