Packers waste no time launching formal search with two interviews lined up to replace Rich Bisaccia
The Green Bay Packers lost enough time with Rich Bisaccia's delayed decision to step away from the team, so head coach Matt LaFleur has already started the process to find the next special teams coordinator.
Rich Bisaccia announced on Tuesday evening that he is stepping down from his role as the Green Bay Packers' special team coordinator after four seasons.
Bisaccia did the Packers no favors by waiting as long as he did to let them know, especially if LaFleur had interest in promoting Bisaccia’s top assistant, Byron Storer, to the coordinator position. If that’s the case, it would have helped to know a couple of weeks ago.
By hook or by crook, Bisaccia is out in Green Bay. He’s done. The man hired to fix the Packers’ special teams but didn’t will now go off to do whatever former special teams coaches do in retirement.
Bisaccia had been in the role for the last four years, and Packer head coach Matt LaFleur said the team feels “disappointed.” He was also serving as assistant head coach since March 2023. Before joining the Packers, Bisaccia was interim head coach for the Raiders in 2021.
