DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinians held funerals Monday for 15 medics and emergency responders killed by Israeli troops in southern Gaza, after their bodies and mangled ambulances were found buried in an impromptu mass grave, apparently plowed over by Israeli military bulldozers.
The Israeli military ordered tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians to leave the southern Gazan town of Rafah on Monday morning, as it intensified its new offensive in the shattered enclave. The order — which came during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr — is the latest of several issued by the army since Benjamin Netanyahu’s government broke a two-month-old ceasefire with Hamas earlier this month and cut off supplies of food,
