Kosovo police on Wednesday raided 10 Belgrade-linked government offices in ethnic Serb areas, the interior ministry said, the latest move by Pristina to dismantle a Serbian system of social services and political offices in the country ahead of parliamentary elections.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, said today that the terror of Pristina calls into question the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, and that the responsibility also lies with the European Union.

Ethnic Serbs living in Kosovo have denounced raids by authorities on municipal offices in 10 Serbia-backed areas. The January 15 raids are part of an effort by the government in Pristina to close so-called parallel institutions that give neighboring Serbia leverage in its former province.

Ivan Milojevic, a Serbian worker at the post office in Gracanica, a municipality close to capital Pristina and mostly populated by ethnic Serbs, said that the closure was part of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's pressure on Serbs ahead of the Feb. 9 parliamentary election.
