HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The North Carolina Department of Transportation reports I-40 is scheduled to re-open to traffic between North Carolina and Tennessee following damage from Helene. Officials said the interstate will re-open on Saturday with one lane in each direction at 35 miles per hour through narrow lanes.
