Reigning world champion Loic Meillard won gold for Switzerland in the men's slalom on Monday, putting on a blistering performance to take the alpine skiing title at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

In all Alpine skiing events, athletes must successfully pass through a course’s gate markers in order for their run to qualify. Skiers must also finish the course completely, and must wear compliant equipment including a helmet, a protective bib, and skis that comply with established rules for length, width, and bindings.
