WASHINGTON >> FBI Director Kash Patel is considering bringing in trainers from the Ultimate Fighting Championship to beef up agents’ martial arts and self-defense skills, according to four people familiar with the plan laid out on a call this week with FBI field offices.
FBI Director Kash Patel suggested during a call with field offices that the Ultimate Fighting Championship and his agency could form a relationship to help agents develop their physical fitness.
Patel floated the idea during his first meeting with the FBI’s 55 field office supervisors on Wednesday, multiple people who were on the call said.
Kash Patel has barely been FBI Director long enough to figure out how to control the office thermostat, but he’s already floating bold and bizarre transformations to the bureau.
While agents reportedly believe Kash Patel’s plan to have a UFC-led training program is “wacky,” one former champ sees it differently.
President Donald Trump is a huge fan of the UFC, having attended an event in New York, days after winning the election in November.
