Ducks get Trevor Zegras back
Zegras underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus on Dec. 12, but he appears to be progressing in his recovery and closing in on a return to game action. A specific timetable for his return isn't yet known, but his participation in Monday's practice session was encouraging.
Getting back a key player from injury, Trevor Zegras will return to action for the Ducks and suit up for the first time since Dec. 4. A first-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old forward has tallied 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 24 games this season.
Week with the Florida Panthers kicks off tonight in Southern California against the Anaheim Ducks. The game is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. Of Florida’s four games out west this week, three will start at 10.

Colangelo has earned a promotion by leading the AHL’s San Diego Gulls with 13 goals and 22 points in his 24 games. He’s been bumped up to a scoring line with Troy Terry out of the lineup, and while he scored his second NHL goal last week, he’s also been on the ice for nine goals against at even strength.
The issue for Carlsson is that the offensive chances have not been generated at a consistent rate. Part of that has been due to line composition. Alex Killorn is a fine complement and does well to support Carlsson by winning board battles and providing him with the puck when he can.
The Flyers welcome in Cutter Gauthier and the Anaheim Ducks, as the homestand continues on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Colangelo played 12:29, mostly at 5v5 against St. Louis' top two lines, and tallied his first goal of the season, albeit late in a blowout loss to lessen the deficit to 6-2. 🚨 Colangelo 🚨 He finds space and buries it for Ryan Strome's 300th career assist🏒 #FlyTogether pic.twitter.com/NZ5CbINTkg
With recent wins over the Jets, Lightning, Devils and Oilers, coach Greg Cronin says there are no more moral victories as they taake on Winnipeg on Thursday
The Ducks will face the Florida Panthers again in the first home game of three before they head back on the road. The Ducks are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Panthers on Jan. 18. The Panthers have also not played since that 3-0 victory over the Ducks.
With the second half of the 2024-25 season in full swing, the Anaheim Ducks find themselves in the interesting position of not exactly contending for the playoffs but not wasting away their season in the Western Conference basement either.
