As the New York Rangers enter training camp, one of the storylines surrounding the franchise centers on sophomore Matt Rempe and his battle for a roster spot following an overnight explosion that turned the then-rookie into a fan favorite last season.

Matt Rempe knew that training in New York was the best thing for him ahead of the 2024-25 season. The fact that teammate Jonathan Quick opened his home to the 22-year-old, however, made the end of his offseason even more valuable.

Between training with Georges Laraque and Chris Kreider, Matt Rempe was busy this summer, but now it’s time for training camp. The 21-year-old is still fighting for a roster position, but Rangers coach Peter Laviolette was impressed with Rempe’s work during the offseason as it did not go unnoticed.
