CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns special teams unit didn’t make things any better in 2024. From numerous missed kicks to allowing opposing return units to score on their home field, the special teams unit struggled throughout the season. Digging themselves out of this deep hole is difficult, but it’ll take improving on the little things to do so.

The Cleveland Browns have maybe the most interesting quarterback battle we've ever seen taking place at training camp this summer; a four-way competition between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. But if the Browns are being real with themselves, this battle isn't nearly as interesting as they're making it seem.
As the Cleveland Browns enter their second week of training camp, they got running back Jerome Ford back on the field. Ford, now a fourth-year running back, missed the first week with a hamstring injury. He remained limited in his return to the practice field.

BEREA, Ohio — Monday marked not only the first day in pads for the Browns, but the first day they were without Kenny Pickett because of his hamstring injury. It’s a currently three-way competition for the starting job until Pickett comes back, which is up in the air right now.
According to Pro Football Focus, which does “watch the film” (even if imperfect like all evaluations), gave Thornhill his second lowest season grade of his career last year (65.5) including a paltry 45.0 grade in tackling. Overall, PFF had Thornhill graded as the 72nd safety in the NFL in 2024.
