As the NCAA Tournament approaches and international play comes to a close, the 2025 NBA Draft is less than four months away. As such, teams around the league continue scouting and refining their boards before the combine and pre-draft workouts take place in May.

When Khaman Maluach raises his arms over his head, he can practically touch the rim. The Duke freshman center boasts a ridiculous 9’8 standing reach, which will be the second-longest in the NBA behind Mark Williams once he’s drafted. Maluach’s size gives him an elite physical profile at 7’2, 250 pounds, with a reported 7’5 wingspan.

Not surprisingly, the betting odds have shown Flagg lots of love. He was the favorite to win the John Wooden Award and go first overall in the NBA Draft. Duke was also the co-favorite to win March Madness at the best basketball betting sites.

Flagg’s raw passing numbers are strong for any prospect, let alone a 6’9 freshman — 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio, 24.9% assist rate and 14.8% turnover rate. The metrics I’m tracking lined up with the perception of Flagg as an excellent passing prospect.

Cooper Flagg has long been talked about as the runaway No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. And unless he chooses to return to Duke, that should uphold. That said, there’s some people out there who think he’s not a shoe-in as the top pick.
