Robin Dion "Rocky" Myers, 63, was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death for the 1991 capital murder of Ludie Mae Tucker in Decatur. Myers was set to be executed by nitrogen gas hypoxia.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall was highly critical of Gov. Kay Ivey’s decision Friday to commute an Alabama inmate’s death sentence. In a Friday night statement, Marshall said Ivey’s decision belied the facts of Robin “Rocky” Myers' case.

Governor Ivey, who has overseen 22 executions during her tenure, stated, "I have enough questions about Mr. Myers' guilt that I cannot move forward with executing him."
