It looks like Michael Bay and Will Smith will have to wait for another opportunity for a Bad Boys reunion. Entertainment Weekly has learned that Bay exited his role as director of Netflix's upcoming action movie Fast and Loose over creative differences with Smith.

Michael Bay has exited Netflix's action film Fast and Loose amid creative differences with star Will Smith, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Fast and Loose focuses on a crime boss who loses his memory after an attack and gradually learns that he was leading a double life as a CIA agent.

Netflix's loss may well be Transformers fans' gain, however. Bay is currently in discussions with Paramount about returning to the giant robot franchise that he launched back in July 2007. In total Bay directed five movies in that series over 10 years, ending with Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017.
