The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans minors in a blockbuster ruling that will bolster efforts by conservative state lawmakers to pass and preserve other divisive laws targeting transgender Americans.

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has yet to decide on a Florida law and regulations that Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Legislature made a priority in 2023 as judges were waiting on the high court to decide this case.

U.S. v. Skrmetti' concerns a law restricting puberty blockers and hormone therapy for trans kids under 18 — but not for non-trans youth
