The weather service said some of the storm cells that are moving through the region could bring gusts as high as 60 mph along with large hail, drenching rain and frequent lightning.

On Thursday at 5:59 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC released a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 6:45 p.m. The warning is for Alamance, Orange and Person counties.

At 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, the NWS Raleigh NC released a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 5:30 p.m. for Forsyth and Guilford counties.
