He noted that last spring, the National Health Service in England published an independent review into the country’s youth gender services — known as the Cass Review, after Dr. Hilary Cass, who led it — that concluded that the evidence to support the treatments in adolescents was “remarkably weak.”

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Tennessee law restricting gender transition care for minors, delivering a major blow to transgender rights.

In 2020, the justices ruled 6-3 that gay and transgender workers were shielded from employment discrimination nationwide.

The ruling means groups challenging similar laws targeting medical care for gender dysphoria could face an uphill battle in court.
