A 12News crew at the scene counted at least five vehicles involved, an 18-wheeler, a box truck, two smaller cars and a pickup truck.

TxDOT fully-closed the high-traffic ramp back in February. The full closure impacted drivers headed southbound on the Interstate 35 ramp to westbound Interstate 10. A partial closure of the Finesilver curve took place in January. The closures have been causing traffic delays in the area since.

According to Florida Highway Patrol's report on the crash, the man and woman were in the same vehicle which "rotated" and struck a tree during the crash.
