New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo put himself in rare MLB company after a record night versus the Washington Nationals.

Brandon Nimmo hit a grand slam and matched a franchise record with nine RBIs, helping the New York Mets pound Washington Nationals 19-5 on Monday. Nimmo also hit a three-run drive in his seventh career multihomer game.

CJ Abrams scored on Pete Alonso's throwing error in the ninth inning and the Washington Nationals rallied from a six-run deficit for an 8-7 win against the visiting New York Mets on Sunday. Alex Call doubled leading off the ninth against Ryne Stanek (0-2) and pinch runner Jacob Young went to third on a groundout.
