Tom Cruise ’s quest to become America’s most death-defying stuntman continues to pay off. The Oscar-nominated actor has spent the last couple of decades primarily focused on his action-packed “Mission: Impossible” films — and just set a Guinness World Record for one of the most daring stunts in the series.

The helicopter would take Cruise up to an altitude of at least 7,500 feet before he would jump out, lighting the fuel-soaked parachute on fire and then cutting himself out of it.

I understand the irony of me saying we were going to make two two-hour movies and we ended up making these two much, much bigger ones.
