PHOENIX (AP) — Sami Whitcomb scored 29 of her career-high 36 points in the first half, Alyssa Thomas had her 16th career triple-double and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Dallas Wings 102-72 on Monday night to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. Whitcomb’s 29 were the most points scored by a WNBA player in any half this season.

WNBA star DeWanna Bonner is returning to where her professional career began and signing with the Phoenix Mercury, ESPN reported Monday.

A return to Phoenix would perhaps be fitting, as Bonner played there from 2009 to 2019. The team took her with the No. 5 pick in the 2009 draft, and she was named the Sixth Woman of the Year in each of her first three seasons. While she isn't an efficient shooter or a 3-point threat, she has always been a potent scorer and a solid defender.

The Phoenix Mercury will now have two players representing at the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.

Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese highlight the list of 2025 WNBA All-Star Game reserve selections. The WNBA revealed the 12 reserve players on Sunday.
