Am I connecting to connect or connect to distract? I have much been guilty as using connection with others as a means to escape my own reality. In this, I found myself making others somewhat upset by my often too frequent presence. This is when I knew I wasn’t connecting out of a genuine urge to relate and to understand someone, but I was using it as a means to distract myself from the task at hand. The dose makes the poison.
