This Hebrew word relates to your daily life and to your faith - Tikvah, meaning “Hope.” Hope is woven into the very fabric of our lives and echoed throughout Scripture. As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans for a future and a hope.” Hebrews 10:23 encourages us to “Hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” In these uncertain times, as things are being shaken here in Israel, we stand united in this enduring hope.

The Hebrew word “qavah” means to wait with hope and expectation. And biblical hope is based on a person. When the Israelite people were at their lowest, the psalmists repeatedly tell us that their only qavah was for God himself. This Advent, we wait expectantly for God to rescue the world from death and darkness.
