Here’s Blaze, the northern brushtail possum, enjoying the sweet nectar of the native Banksia dentata. The northern brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula arnhemensis) is found in tropical savanna woodlands and monsoonal forests. It is also one of few native animals that lives and breeds in suburban areas across the Top End, including Darwin and Katherine. Nocturnal and mostly tree-dwelling, northern brushtail possums commonly nest in tree hollows – or make themselves at home in the roofs of sub
