How Maui Came To Be

POV: you are in the media sub, descending toward an underwater seamount. Ahead of us is Neptune, our science sub. While researchers prepare to collect samples and environmental data, we document the descent and the ecosystem as it comes into view. Seamounts are underwater mountains that alter currents and concentrate marine life. Many remain lightly surveyed, even though they can host dense communities of corals, fish, and invertebrates. Filming these missions does more than capture the moment.
