In 1984 Tim Curry starred as singing impressionist Larry Gormley in the British TV Drama 'Blue Money' by Stewart Parker. Parker was originally inspired to write the script when he saw a real life news story about an Irish taxi driver who absconded with a rich passenger's holdall full of money. A friend of Parker showed the draft to Tim Curry who immediately declared an interest in playing the lead.
