SARABANDE BWV 996 (J. S. Bach) The "Sarabande" was a court dance from the baroque period that has a ternary rhythm with a slow tempo. This piece is from a famous Suite (BWV996) which was originally written for a keyboard instrument with a lute-like sound, called “lute-harpsichord” (lautenwerk).
