GETTYSBURG (Pennsylvania) — Around 1:00 p.m. on July 3, 1863, over 150 Confederate guns began an artillery bombardment along Seminary Ridge. Many of the Confederate rounds overshot their targets and landed around General Meade's headquarters along the Taneytown Road.
