The Village of Schaumburg is grateful to the first responders and volunteers who deployed to New York City following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Three Schaumburg firefighters, Battalion Chief John Schneidwind and retired firefighters Captain Rick Kolomay and Butch Adams, were among the Chicago area volunteer team who responded to assist with search and rescue efforts.
